How StepCat social safety and privacy controls work

Which social control should I use?

1. RemoveUse removal when you no longer want the account in your StepCat friend relationship.
2. BlockUse blocking as the immediate boundary when you need unwanted contact to stop.
3. ReportSubmit a report when behavior may violate community rules or needs moderation review.
4. Contact supportEscalate abuse, threats, impersonation, repeated contact, or a safety tool that is not working.

What information can appear in social features?

When you use friends or leaderboards, StepCat may show selected information such as a chosen display name, avatar or profile details, cafe state, step total, gift activity, and ranking to people participating in those features.

StepCat does not show detailed underlying Apple Health or Health Connect records to other users. Social and moderation systems may store relationship events such as requests, gifts, blocks, and reports so those features can operate safely.

What makes a report useful?

• The account or display name involved
• A concise description of what happened
• The date or approximate time
• The StepCat screen or social feature involved
• Whether the behavior is ongoing or repeated
• Whether you already removed, blocked, or reported the account

Which behavior is not welcome on StepCat?

StepCat community features are intended to stay warm, calm, and suitable for a general audience. Harassment, threats, hateful content, impersonation, repeated spam, gift abuse, and attempts to bypass another user's block or stated boundary are not allowed.

How do I escalate a social-safety issue?

Use the relevant in-app control first when it is available, then email hum@getstepcat.com with the useful context listed above. Support coverage may vary during early launch, but high-impact safety issues are prioritized.
