Where can StepCat activity information come from?

On iOS, StepCat may request read access to Apple Health data through HealthKit. On Android, StepCat may request read access to activity data through Health Connect. The operating system presents and controls those permissions.

A permission request is not the same as automatic access. StepCat can read only the categories made available through its implementation, supported by the device, and permitted by the user.

Which activity categories may be involved?

Depending on the permission you grant and what the device supports, StepCat may collect, transmit, and store activity records or summaries such as step count, walking or running distance, active energy or calories, and exercise or active minutes.

Availability can differ by platform, device, connected source, and permission. This list describes possible categories in the published privacy policy; it is not a promise that every metric is available on every device.

How does activity information affect the app?

  • Display movement metrics and history
  • Calculate daily progress, goals, quests, and streaks
  • Power Paw Coins, rewards, cafe growth, and cat-care loops
  • Support selected leaderboard and social summaries
  • Help diagnose activity-access or synchronization issues when you contact support

What can friends and leaderboard participants see?

If you use social features, StepCat may display selected activity-derived information such as step totals, rankings, a chosen display name, profile details, and cafe state to the people participating in those features.

StepCat does not show detailed underlying Apple Health or Health Connect records to other users. Friend, block, report, and moderation records may be stored so the social and safety systems can operate.
